Our recipe follows the traditional one pretty closely. Still, when it comes to displaying this dessert, we took it up a notch—baking each one. Perfect for Halloween snacks!

WHAT INGREDIENTS YOU NEED TO MAKE THIS PINEAPPLE DESSERT :
light butter
lemon zest
sugar
eggs, separated
self raising flour (sifted)
nonfat milk
crushed pineapple (drained)
confectioners sugar
HOW TO MAKE THIS PINEAPPLE DESSERT :
Step 1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Step 2. Prep 8 X 15 inch baking dish with nonfat baking spray
Step 3. Separate the eggs.
Step 4. In one large bowl add the egg whites.
Step 5. In the second bowl add the egg yolks.
Step 6. Add the butter, sugar, and lemon zest to the bowl with the egg yolks.
Step 7. Beat the butter, sugar, and egg whites together until they are thick and creamy.
Step 8. Slowly fold in the milk and flour.
Step 9. Mix in the crushed pineapple.
Step 10. Using an electric mixer with the whisk attachment, whisk the egg whites until they form soft peaks.
Step 11. Gently spoon the whisked egg whites into the egg yolk mixture.
Step 12. Pour this mixture into the prepared baking dish.
Step 13. Put the baking dish in the center of the center of the oven.
Step 14. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes. (Or until it is firm and has turned a golden brown.)
Step 15. Set aside for several minutes.
Step 16.Dust the top of the baking dish with the confectioners sugar.
Serve.
