WHAT INGREDIENTS YOU NEED TO MAKE THIS CHEESY TURKEY MEATBALL SKILLET:
Meatballs:
2 Tbsp skim milk
⅓ C seasoned bread crumbs
⅓ C Parmesan cheese (grated)
1 Tbsp minced garlic
1 large egg
1 Tbsp tomato paste
¼ C Italian parsley (chopped)
¼ tsp salt
1 ½ lb ground turkey (93%)
Nonstick cooking spray
Sauce:
1 Tbsp minced garlic
1 can (28 oz) crushed fire roasted tomatoes
Salt and black pepper to taste
1 1/2 C part-skim mozzarella cheese (shredded)
Garnish:
Parsley
HOW TO MAKE THIS CHEESY TURKEY MEATBALL SKILLET:
Step 1. Add milk, breadcrumbs, parmesan cheese, garlic, egg, tomato paste, parsley, and salt together in a large bowl.
Step 2. Using your hands combine the ingredients together.
Step 3. Add the ground turkey.
Step 4. With your hands combine the ground turkey with the other ingredients.
Step 5. Do not over mix.
Step 6. Mease out the mixture into 18 sections.
Step 7. Form each into a ball.
Step 8. Place the skillet on and heat.
Step 9. Turn the burner on to medium.
Step 10. When the skillet is hot spray with the nonstick cooking spray.
Step 11. Brown the meat balls for 5-6 minutes on each side.
Step 12. When the meatballs have browned, move them to a plate.
Step 13. Lower the heat to medium-low.
Step 14. Coat the skillet with nonstick cooking spray.
Step 15. Add the minced garlic.
Step 16. Cook for 1-2 minutes or until golden brown.
Step 17. Add the crushed tomatoes, salt and pepper.
Step 18. Stir to mix.
Step 19. Add the meatballs to the skillet.
Step 20. Cover the skillet.
Step 21. Simmer on medium-low for 5 minutes.
Step 22. Remove the lid from the skillet, top with the cheese.
Step 23. Replace the lid to the skillet, cooking until the cheese has melted, (About 2 minutes)
