When the same old pizza becomes boring on pizza night, it is time to turn the meal into something exciting but super flavorful. This Pizza Casserole is just the thing to bring big smiles to the whole family. I can tell you right now, this is not your ordinary pizza.
There is a healthy take on pizza that gives additional flavor and enhances the yum for the whole family.
This pizza Casserole is using Ground Turkey, as well as Turkey pepperoni. This is a healthier take on the ordinary. Just a few ingredients and a short amount of time will give you a dish that the family comes running for.
You are going to be surprised just how easy it is to make a delicious meal that is comforting, delicious and dare I say, tantalizing?
Do I have to use Turkey?
I prefer the turkey as it is a leaner and healthier meat to feed my family. The little ones do not notice the difference and the bigger kid, (hubby) actually loves turkey more than red meat. The decision is yours, but I am sure that you will understand once you taste the dish.
Can I use Spiral Pasta or elbow macaroni?
You can use any shape of pasta you would like. I like the shapes that will hold some of the sauce on them. You can use rotini, spiral, elbow or you could try spaghetti if that is all you ave available.
Can I make this in advance?
Sure! You can prepare it and bake it, allow it to cool and then cover and refrigerate the casserole. All you need to do is then reheat the dish. You could also prepare the casserole up to the point of baking. Wrap the casserole instead of baking it. Place it in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours before baking it.
