This is a recipe that has been in my family for generations. It is a no fail fudge, which is why it continues to be passed down from one to the next. With just a few ingredients and a small amount of time, you too, can have one of the best old fashioned fudge recipes.
This is a fudge that literally melts in your mouth with an explosion of chocolate in each bite. Smooth and creamy, not grainy, as fudge is meant to be,
This is the perfect fudge recipe for the holidays, for gift giving, for parties or because you love fudge. I never wait until just the Holidays to make a batch of fudge to snack on or give me a pick up once in a while.
Can I add nuts to the recipe?
You can certainly toss in a handful of walnuts that have been chopped. You could put some on top also before the fudge sets completely.
How do I make this fudge special for the Holidays?
I would suggest adding different flavors of extracts. You could make a batch of peppermint, a batch of orange or even a batch of peanut butter. My favorite is to add instant coffee to the fudge for a slight caffeine kick.
How do I store this fudge?
I generally keep it wrapped in plastic in the refrigerator. This makes the fudge a little harder, but it is not too hard to enjoy. It could also be kept tightly wrapped on the counter for up to 24 hours.
