How can I turn this into an Asian style?
You could change out the noodles to Chow Mein or Lo Mein and use soy sauce in the dressing, while removing the Italian Dressing. Add in Sesame Oil.
Can I make this Salad in advance?
You could make it in advance and keep it in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours. This is going to allow the flavors to blend together.
Can I freeze this Salad?
It is possible, however, there may be a change in texture or flavor.
Can I add other ingredients to this Salad?
If you know of vegetables that would add to the flavor of this salad, then feel free to add them. May I suggest carrots, baby spinach or even radishes.
Could I use a different Pasta?
This is possible if you do not want to use Spaghetti. You could use Angel Hair Pasta, Shell Macaroni, Penne or almost any type of pasta that would not overwhelm the other ingredients.
Ingredients:
1 ½ cups Cherry Tomatoes, halved
1 Cucumber, diced
2 Zucchini, diced
1 red bell pepper, diced
1 green bell pepper, diced
1 medium red Onion, diced
1 can Black Olives, sliced
1 tbsp Sesame Seeds
1 tsp Paprika
½ tsp Celery Seed
¼ tsp Garlic Powder
½ cup Parmesan Cheese
1 Bottle Italian Dressing
HOW TO MAKE CALIFORNIA SPAGHETTI SALAD:
Step 1. Cook the Spaghetti Noodles according to package directions, to your preference of tenderness
Step 2. Rinse and drain the Spaghetti and set off to the side for now
Step 3. In a large bowl add the diced bell peppers, diced cucumber, diced onion, halved tomatoes, diced zucchini and toss to combine
Step 4. Add in the black olives
Step 5. In another bowl combine the Italian dressing, Sesame Seeds, Paprika, Celery Seed, Garlic Powder and Parmesan Cheese
Step 6. Whisk to blend well
Step 7. Pour this mixture over the spaghetti and vegetables and toss to coat all ingredients
Step 8. Chill for two to three hours before serving
