Ingredients:
8 ounces egg noodles, cooked according to package directions
1 ½ pounds ground Beef
2 cans (30 ounces) Tomato Sauce
8 ounces Cream Cheese, softened
8 ounces Sour Cream
2 tsp Garlic, minced
1 tsp Italian seasoning
1 tsp sugar
¼ tsp Salt
¼ tsp Pepper
1 ½ cups Cheddar Cheese, shredded
How to make Poor Man Husband Casserole:
Step 1. Preheat the oven to 350*
Step 2. Lightly spray a 9×13 baking dish with cooking spray
Step 3. Cook the pasta according to package directions, when done, drain and rinse
Step 4. In a skillet over medium high heat, crumble the ground beef until cooked thoroughly, drain the grease
Step 5. Add in the minced garlic and Italian seasoning, and salt and pepper, stir to blend well
Step 6. Add in the sugar, stirring to mix
Step 7. Pour in the tomato Sauce and stir again
Step 8. Simmer the mixture for 5 minutes
Step 9. In a small bowl combine the sour cream and the softened Cream Cheese
Step 10. Place half of the pasta on the bottom of the prepared baking pan
Step 11. Top the pasta with half of the Sour Cream and Cream Cheese mixture
Step 12. Spoon half of the meat mixture over the top of the sour cream mixture
Step 13. Repeat the second layer of pasta, sour cream and meat mixture.
Step 14. Sprinkle the Shredded Cheese over the top of the entire casserole and place in the oven
Step 15. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, until the cheese is bubbly and beginning to brown.
