To enjoy the full force of what these rolls are, they should be eaten right out of the oven. Cool enough to touch, but still hot!
How do I keep these fresh if I don’t eat them all?
Place them into an airtight container and then place into the refrigerator for up to 4 days. These could be frozen, however, the taste will be slightly affected when they thaw. They will last in the freezer for up to 3 months.
Do I have to use the Cinnamon Honey Butter?
Absolutely not! However, if you ignore this butter, it could be a serious error on your part.
Ingredients:
¼ cup Warm Water
1 pkg Dry active yeast
½ cup Buttermilk
½ cup milk
1 egg
¼ cup granulated Sugar
3 ½ cup Flour, All Purpose is fine
⅛ tsp Salt
2 tbsp Butter, softened
Cinnamon Honey Butter:
4 tbsp Butter, softened
½ tsp Cinnamon
1 tbsp Confectioners Sugar
2 tsp Honey
How to make Texas Roadhouse Rolls with Cinnamon Honey Butter:
Step 1. In a small bowl or cup, place the warm water and stir in the Active Dry Yeast
Step 2. Let rest
Step 3. Add the Buttermilk and the milk to a microwave safe bowl
Step 4. Heat in the microwave until the milks are both warm (it is fine if the buttermilk separates)
Step 5. Stir 2 tbsp softened butter into the milk
Step 6. In a larger bowl combine the milk mixture with the yeast, sugar, salt and 1 cup of flour
Step 7. Using a dough hook, beat on high until the mix is combined and smooth
Step 8. Add the egg to the bowl and continue to mix
Step 9. Slowly add the remainder of the four and mix until the dough pulls away from the bowl
Step 10. Flour the dough with a bit of flour and shape into a ball
Step 11. Cover the dough and let it rise for one hour
Step 12. Roll the dough on a floured surface to about a width of ½ inch
Step 13. Cut the dough into 12 rectangular shaped sections, evenly
Step 14. Fold the ends of each rectangle under and it will form a roll shape
Step 15. Place the dough on a pastry mat or parchment covered pan for 20 minutes to rise.
Step 16. Preheat the oven to 400*
Step 17. Bake the rolls for 15 minutes or until just lightly browned
Step 18. Brush the tops with melted butter
