This is not your ordinary Meatloaf, no way! This is a meatloaf that will make you look at meatloaf in a whole new way. This is a tender, juicy and flavorful meatloaf that is going to surprise you!
For the most part, this may seem like a common meatloaf, one that you swear, after reading the directions, is one you have made before. I promise you, this is not that meatloaf!
The ingredients that are combined in this mix are going to be what makes you realize this meatloaf tastes like a Philly Cheesesteak. Yet, you will not have the bun to dip the sandwich into the Au Jus. This will be different because it is stuffed with cheese, so much Cheese that it should be illegal.
The recipe calls for ground beef, should I use an expensive steak or roast to grind up?
No, you simply need lean ground beef. The leaner, the better. Try to find a 96% if possible, if not, settle for the 90-10.
Should I use a seasoned breadcrumb mixture?
Honestly, Panko breadcrumbs should be what you use. Regular bread crumbs would work, but the Panko style breadcrumbs will work better.
Can I make the meatloaf in advance?
The meatloaf can be put together and placed in the refrigerator, as long as it is tightly wrapped, before the baking process. You can keep it for up to 24 hours before baking the meatloaf.
What should I serve with the meatloaf?
There are so many possibilities that may be served as a side dish with this meatloaf, you could stick with mashed potatoes, roasted potatoes, Rice Pilaf or even cauliflower rice. A side of grilled or roasted vegetables always tastes great, no matter what they are served with.
