It is a hearty dish, tastes great and is super easy to make. Fried Rice does not have to be a side to your favorite meal, it can be the main course by adding delicious shrimp to it. The savory flavors come from the Soy Sauce and Sesame oil.

There really is no need to add any additional sides. This dish is a meal by itself. However, some of the common sides would include egg rolls, wontons, or dumplings.
Is this a healthy dish?
Unless you use Brown Rice, the answer has to be definitely not. The rice is filled with starch and carbohydrates. The shrimp with all of the protein it provides may come close to evening it out, if that makes you feel better about eating such a great dish.
Can I use instant Rice?
You could, but instant rice does not have the same flavor that long cooking rice has. It is best to use jasmine rice or even Basmati rice. To cook rice it is 2 cups of water to one cup of rice.
Ingredients:
3 cups Rice, cooked
1 pound Medium Shrimp, peeled and deveined
2 cups Peas and carrots, frozen, but thawed
2 tbsp Green onions, sliced
1 tbsp Garlic, minced
1 tbsp Oil
2 tbsp Soy Sauce
2 tsp Sesame Oil
1 Egg, large, whisked
How to make Fried Rice with Shrimp:
Step 1. Wash and rinse the shrimp, then set to the side
Step 2. Cook your rice as directed on the package, then set to the side
Step 3. In a skillet over medium heat, add 1 tbsp Oil and then add the minced Garlic
Step 4. Saute for 1 minute
Step 5. Add the shrimp to the skillet with the peas and Carrots
Step 6. Cook for 5 minutes
Step 7. In a small bowl combine the Soy Sauce and the Sesame Oil
Step 8. Add the white rice to the skillet
Step 9. Pour the Soy Sauce mixture over the Rice and stir to blend
Step 10. Saute for 4 minutes
Step 11. Move the fried rice to the side and add in the beaten egg
Step 12. Cook until the egg is done then combine the rice and egg together
Step 13. Garnish with sliced green onions and serve immediately!
