14 oz French Bread (cut into ½ inch cubes)
2 Tbsp salted whipped butter
1 ½ C yellow onion (diced)
4 stalks celery (diced)
1 C apples (diced)
5 Chicken Apple sausage (sliced into quarters)
¼ C fresh sage (chopped)
1 Tbsp fresh thyme (chopped)
3 ¼ C chicken broth (reduced sodium)
Salt (to taste)
Fresh pepper (to taste)
Nonstick cooking spray
HOW TO MAKE THIS CHICKEN SAUSAGE AND HERB STUFFING:
Step 1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
Step 2. Prep baking sheet with nonstick cooking spray.
Step 3. Spread bread cubes on the prepared baking sheet.
Step 4. Bake at 375 degrees for 20 minutes. (Or until the cubes have dried out.)
Step 5. Set aside.
Step 6. Set on medium heat melt the butter in a large skillet.
Step 7. Carefully add the onions and celery cooking for about 8 minutes.
Stirring often.
(Or cook until the onions and celery are tender.)
Step 8. Transfer to a large bowl.
Step 9. Add the apples and sausage to the same skillet.
Step 10. Cook the apples and sausage on medium heat for 10 minutes.
Step 11. The sausage should be a light brown.
Step 12. Add the apples and sausage to the large bowl.
