This Italian casserole is loaded with Italian Sausage, gooey cheese and your favorite pasta. Top it all with your favorite Spaghetti or marinara sauce and dinner is served!

Which shape of Pasta is best to use?
This is an easy answer. You choose the shape of pasta that you like the best. Whether that is spiral, rotini, elbow or shell, the choice is what you like best.
Which is the best Spaghetti Sauce or Marinara?
Again, your choice! I, personally, prefer to use a jar of Spaghetti sauce. The Italian flavor is there which means I have less work to do.
So this is a type of dump casserole?
Not really. This recipe does need to be stirred and combined before baking. You also need to boil the pasta first.
Should I use Parmesan or Mozzarella Cheese?
I love using Mozzarella cheese with this casserole. That is because to me, all Italian dishes should be topped with Mozzarella.
Can I use Ground Sausage?
You can if you find ground Italian Sausage. I know it is difficult to find a ground version of my favorite Italian Sausage in our local store.
Ingredients:
16 ounces Pasta, cooked al dente, I use shell macaroni
1 pound Italian Sausage cut into slices
2 jars Spaghetti Sauce, your favorite brand and flavor
2 bell peppers, diced, Red
1 onion, diced
1 pound boneless Chicken breast, cut into pieces
2 cups Mozzarella Cheese, shredded
1 tsp Italian Seasoning
2 tbsp Olive Oil
1 tsp Salt
½ tsp Black pepper
HOW TO MAKE Best Italian Bake:
Step 1. Preheat the oven to 325*
Step 2. Lightly spray a 9×13 casserole dish with non stick sprayIn a skillet over medium high heat, add the Olive oil
Step 3. Add the Chicken pieces into the skillet and begin cooking and stirring the chicken to get each side
Step 4. Add in the Italian Sausage
Step 5. Stir in the onion and bell pepper and continue cooking until the meat is cooked through
Step 6. Season with Italian Seasoning, Salt and Pepper
Step 7. Drain excess grease from the skillet
Step 8. Mix in the pasta sauce and pasta
Step 9. Stir then pour into the prepared casserole dish
Step 10. Top with the shredded Cheese
Step 11. Bake for 30 minutes, until cheese is melted and bubbly
Step 12. Serve with your favorite Side dish
