There is nothing like a dish of comforting food in front of us at the end of the day. Especially after a difficult day. This Old Fashioned Goulash is one of the favorite comfort foods in my house.
My family is absolutely in love with this dish. It also reminds me of spending time with my Grandparents when I was younger. This was a dish that I have memories of from their house first.
Goulash is a simple dish, made with ground beef, tomatoes, sauce and macaroni. A few select spices and a little love and dinner is ready! This dish can be served with virtually any side that you would like. Roasted Vegetables, steamed vegetables, a salad or just a fruit salad would be a great idea.
Goulash is a complete meal alone, but will taste even better with an added side or a slice of Garlic Cheese bread. Crusty bread is good with this and you can put a forkful of goulash on the bread and take a bite.
Can I use a different pasta?
Elbow macaroni is a great pasta as it holds the sauce in the center. You can use any pasta you like such as shell pasta, rigatoni or even penne.
Do I have to add the corn?
You do not need to add the corn, however, it does give it a small bit of sweetness. The sweetness is not overpowering.
