Those sweetened dinner rolls that sell out quickly at our local market had become a thorn in my side. I fell in love with King Hawaiian Rolls with the first bite! It then became a mission to try to replicate these rolls with no knowledge of what it entailed.
After many tries, this is the one that came out perfect! At least I believe that they taste almost identical to the famous rolls.
These rolls are super soft, slightly sweet, golden brown and scrumptious for any type of sandwich or eaten plain. These rolls would taste fabulous with cinnamon honey butter. These can be made as small as you want or larger to use for sandwiches or burgers.
What makes these taste so good?
I believe it is a combination of all the ingredients. Specifically the Pineapple Juice, vanilla and sugar. These rolls are sweetened just right without being too sweet.
Are these rolls difficult to make?
Not at all, and they only take 30 minutes to bake. There is a period of one hour when you need to cover the dough and let it rise. But that is minor.
How do I store these rolls?
The rolls will remain fresh if kept in a ziploc bag and in the refrigerator. You can store them there for up to 4 days. They could also be left on the counter as long as they are covered tightly. They will last for 3 days on the counter before they begin to harden.
