Many times I would gladly say yes. However, with this pie, and the Sour Cream on the top I have to say it is not a good idea to freeze this pie. There will be a texture difference that happens upon thawing.
Do I have to add the Sweetened Sour Cream?
No, it is not mandatory, however, the extra layer of flavor that this provides is astonishing and will delight you! Besides it also covers the flaws or air bubbles that pop from the baking process.
Ingredients:
Filling:
1 prepared Graham Cracker Crust
16 ounces Cream Cheese, softened
1 cup Sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp Vanilla Extract
Topping:
2 tbsp Granulated Sugar
½ tsp Vanilla Extract
1 cup Sour Cream
HOW TO MAKE CREAMY CHEESE PIE:
Step 1. Preheat the oven to 350*
Step 2. In a large bowl combine the Cream Cheese, eggs, vanilla and granulated sugar
Step 3. Beat until smooth and creamy
Step 4. Spoon this mixture into the Graham Cracker crust and bake for 35 minutes
Step 5. In a medium bowl combine the Sour Cream, granulated Sugar and the Vanilla Extract
Step 6. After the 35 minutes of baking for the pie, remove from the oven and turn the heat higher to 450*
Step 7. Pour the topping mixture over the pie and return to the oven for 5 minutes
Step 8. Allow the pie to cool completely before serving.
