Upside Down Sticky Apple Pie

Apple Pie meets Sticky Buns!

Ingredients
  

  • 1-9 " double crust pastry
  • Sticky Mixture
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup pecans chopped
  • 4 cups apples peeled, cored, thin sliced
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon water

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350*F.
  2. In a small saucepan, melt butter and brown sugar until starts to boil.
  3. Remove from heat.
  4. Pour into the bottom of a 9" pie plate.
  5. Sprinkle with pecans and place in the refrigerator to cool 10-15 minutes.
  6. Remove from refrigerator and place pastry into the bottom.
  7. Mix flour, sugar and cinnamon.
  8. Sprinkle a couple teaspoons of flour mixture over the bottom crust.
  9. Layer with a few apples, sprinkle more flour mixture and repeat.
  10. Place the top pastry over apples.
  11. Combine the egg and water and brush on the top.
  12. Bake at 350*F for 20-25 minutes or until top is lightly browned.
  13. Immediately turn pie out onto your serving dish.
  14. Serve with ice cream if you desire!
