Wendy’s Copycat Chili

This is the true copycat recipe to make Wendy’s Famous Chili. This Chili is super flavorful, hearty and savory.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 Green Bell Pepper diced
  • 1 Onion diced
  • ½ cup Celery chopped
  • 1 jalapeno pepper seeded and diced
  • 2 pounds Ground Beef lean
  • 1 large can Tomato Sauce
  • 1 small can Diced Tomatoes
  • 2 cans Kidney Beans undrained
  • 2 cans pinto beans undrained
  • 2 tsp Minced Garlic
  • 3 tbsp Chili Powder
  • 1 tsp Oregano
  • 3 tsp Cumin
  • ½ tsp Black Pepper
  • 1 tsp Salt

Method
 

  1. 1. Place a large Dutch oven on the stove over medium high heat
    2. Crumble the ground beef into the Dutch oven
    3. Add in the bell pepper, onion, celery, jalapeno pepper, pinto beans, kidney beans and stir to combine
    4. Add in the tomatoes, the Tomato Sauce
    5. Sprinkle in each of the spices and stir well to combine it all together
    6. Bring to a boil, then immediately lower the heat
    7. Simmer for 2 hours with the cover on.
    8. Serve hot with choice of toppings

Notes

Can I use a different type of meat?
You could use pork, sausage, Chicken, Turkey, Bison or any other type of meat you prefer.
