Method
- 1. Divide the ground beef into 3 equal patties
2. Season the patties on both sides with salt and pepper, garlic and onion powder
3. Place a skillet over medium high heat on the stovetop and carefully place the patties in the skillet
4. In a bowl combine the mayonnaise, relish, bacon, ketchup and sugar
5. Stir to combine the sauce
6. When the patties are thoroughly cooked, remove them and set to the side
7. Wipe the skillet clean and lower the heat to medium
8. Lay the bread on the counter in front of you and butter the outsides of each slice
9. Lay three slices of bread in the skillet
10. Cover each slice of bread with 2 slices of Provolone
11. Place a hamburger patty on top of the Provolone cheese on each slice
12. Top the patty with 2 slices of cheddar cheese
13. Spread a small amount of sauce on top of the Cheddar Cheese slices
14. Top the sauce with the other slice of Rye bread, butter side on the outside
15. Cook each sandwich for about 3 to 4 minutes on one side, then flip the sandwich and cook the other side for the same amount of time
16. Serve hot and enjoy!
Notes
Do I have to use Rye bread?
The Rye bread adds a special layer of yum to the meal without realizing it. When the sauce and butter combine and pretend to mask the flavor of the Rye bread, it is really just a whole other unique and tasty flavor combination.
