Italian Compound Butter

This recipe is an Italian version, which means we added sundried tomatoes, garlic, basil and salt. Easy peasy! There are many variations of compound butter varieties. However, I believe this one is the best, and I use it for so many recipes or different additions to cooking.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter softened to room temperature
  • 2 tbsp Basil finely chopped
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ½ tbsp garlic freshly minced
  • 2 tbsp Sundried tomatoes drained and finely chopped
  • 1 loaf French Bread or Baguette Bread

Method

  1. 1. Beat the softened butter in a mixing bowl until fluffy
    2. Add in the chopped sun dried tomatoes, chopped basil and minced garlic
    3. Add a pinch or ¼ tsp salt
    4. Beat the butter until all ingredients are combined
    5. Transfer the butter to a pretty serving dessert dish or another covered container
    6. Spread the butter on a warmed French Loaf or slices of Baguette Bread

Notes

Should I melt this butter before I combine all the ingredients?
Absolutely not! You want the butter to be room temperature soft, no softer than that. By being room temperature, the butter remains creamy and the ingredients combine easily.
