- 1. Preheat the oven to 350*
2. In a skillet over medium high heat, brown the ground sausage until it is cooked thoroughly.
3. Remove the pan from the heat and spoon the sausage into a bowl and set to the side
4. In the same skillet heat the hash browns until lightly brown, about 8 minutes
5. Grease a 9x13 baking dish
6. Place the hash browns in the bottom of the baking pan
7. Spoon the sausage on top of the hash browns
8. Sprinkle the shredded cheese over the sausage
9. Sprinkle the green chilis on top of the cheese if you are using the chilis
10. In a mixing bowl combine the eggs, onion powder, garlic powder, milk and salt and pepper
11. Blend well using a whisk
12. Pour this egg mixture over the top of the Casserole
13. Place in the oven and bake for 35 to 40 minutes, until the eggs are set
14. Slice and serve hot!
Notes
Should I use frozen hash browns or home made hash browns?
With this casserole, I prefer to use frozen hashbrowns. You could use homemade hash browns, but that is time you do not have. Go the easy route and use the frozen.
