Fried Pickles

Fried pickles have become extremely popular as of late. This recipe is for an easy to make  Fried Pickle.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 jar Dill Pickle Slices
  • 1 large Egg beaten
  • ½ cup Chicken Broth
  • 1 cup Flour all purpose
  • Salt and Pepper optional
  • Oil for frying

Method
 

  1. 1. In a deep sided skillet, heat 2 to 3 inches of Oil over medium high heat
    2. In a bowl beat the egg, add in the chicken broth, salt and pepper and flour
    3. Whisk until smooth, if the batter is too runny add in flour, if it is too thick, add a tsp more of Chicken broth at a time, until you reach desired consistency.
    4. Drain the pickle slices really well. Pat dry
    5. Dip the pickle slices into the batter one at a time.
    6. Carefully place them into the heated oil
    7. Fry until Golden brown on both sides
    8. Drain on paper towels and place onto a serving plate around a bowl of dipping sauce

Notes

Can I add chili powder to give these a kick?
You can, I am sure that fried pickles with a kick are perfect appetizers. With this recipe you could also make a spicy mayo dip to dip the pickles in.
