Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked shredded chicken (approximately 10 to 12 ounces)
  • 1 can condensed cream of chicken soup (10.5 ounces)
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, freshly shredded and divided
  • 2 cans refrigerated crescent roll dough (8 ounces each)

Equipment

  • 9 × 13-inch baking dish
  • Medium mixing bowl

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F. Lightly spray a 9 × 13-inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the cooked shredded chicken, condensed cream of chicken soup, and 1/2 cup of the shredded cheddar cheese. Stir until all the ingredients are evenly mixed.
  3. Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into individual triangles.
  4. Spoon approximately 2 to 3 tablespoons of the chicken mixture onto the wide end of each crescent triangle.
  5. Starting at the wide end, roll each triangle toward the pointed tip. Tuck in the sides slightly to help keep the creamy filling inside.
  6. Place the filled crescent rolls in the prepared baking dish, leaving a little space between them.
  7. Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the crescent rolls.
  8. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the crescent dough is golden brown and the chicken filling is hot and bubbling around the edges.
  9. Allow the casserole to rest for 5 to 10 minutes before serving. Enjoy warm for a comforting and delicious family meal.
