This Cinnamon Donut Bread is almost identical to eating a cinnamon sugar cake donut from the bakery. This recipe is obviously a play on those tasty treats.
1.Preheat the oven to 350*
2.Spray the loaf pan with a non-stick spray
3.In a large bowl combine the butter, oil and sugar. Mix until combined
4.Add in the eggs and vanilla, beat until smooth
5.Slowly add in the dry ingredients and the buttermilk, alternating as you add
6.Beat after each addition
7.Scrape the sides of the bowl to incorporate all ingredients
8.Break apart all lumps and blend well
9.Place ½ to ¾ cup of the batter into another bowl
10.In this small bowl, add in the cinnamon and molasses
11.Stir well
12.Using a spoon, place half the brea batter into the bottom of the loaf pan
13.Spoon half of the molasses batter into the bottom layer
14.Spread the remaining bread batter over the top of the molasses mixture
15.Spoon the remaining mix on top of the bread batter
16.Using a knife swirl this mixture into the bread batter
17.Place in the preheated oven and bake for 40 to 45 minutes. Test with a toothpick to be sure the bread is done
18.Remove from the oven and set to the side to allow it to cool for 10 minutes
19.Gently loosen the loaf from the sides of the loaf pan
20.Carefully remove the bread loaf from the pan
21.In a shallow dish add the cinnamon, brown sugar and granulated sugar. Stir to combine
22.Carefully dip each side of the loaf into the butter mixture
23.Spoon the melted butter mixture over the edges
24.Sprinkle all sides with a sugar cinnamon mix
25.Be sure to coat the top of the bread loaf with the melted butter mixture and also sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture on the top of the loaf.
